After-hours issues: U.S.-Iran, Trump tariffs, features

On the related news, U.S. after-hours futures fell and international oil prices rose above $97 based on the WTI. Trump’s Tariff Violation Ruling
In February, a U.S. court ruled that Trump’s imposition of universal tariffs and other mutual tariffs is illegal. In response, Trump signed an executive order imposing universal tariffs of 10 percent based on Article 122 of the Trade Act. Since then, he has claimed to raise it to 15 percent, but the U.S. International Trade Court ruled today that the executive order is illegal.

The ruling leaves the administration’s universal tariff policy with no legal basis. The court pointed to the use of the clause as a wide range of protectionist measures, contrary to its original purpose of defending the balance of payments, which is expected to increase legal disputes and uncertainties in the implementation of the U.S. government’s tariff policies in the future.
