“You should refrain from ordering Coupang because”
In response to Coupang’s personal information security, Kim Seung-joo, a professor at Korea University’s Graduate School of Information Security, said, “We should refrain from ordering Coupang so that we can expose less personal information.”
It is difficult for ordinary people to understand the security-related issues of online platform companies. So, even if I watch the National Assembly hearing on Coupang, it is difficult to judge their response and preparedness even though I am angry about their attitude and Kim Bum-seok’s absence…
The fact that an expert who listened to Coupang’s answer at the hearing directly stated, “We should refrain from ordering Coupang for the time being,” shows how important the current situation is. In fact, it is not easy for a university professor to make remarks at this level about a specific company. Nevertheless, Professor Kim Seung-joo’s strong message can only be seen as a high risk of personal information leakage by Coupang.
Looking at Coupang’s “tail biting” problem, I personally think it is better for Coupang to be devastated and to close its business in Korea. In reality, if that is difficult, it should be achieved to change Coupang’s internal response attitude by significantly reducing the use of Coupang by domestic consumers for the time being.
Coupang is not out of the “After all, you can’t beat us” stance yet. I’m guessing they’re laughing at the Korean government and consumers, saying, “After all this fuss, we’ll come back when we spray coupons…”
