When Trump presented Zelensky with a 28-point

1.
When Trump presented Zelensky with a 28-point peace plan, there were not a few responses on Facebook, saying, “Ukraine has no choice but to accept it in the end.”

However, people familiar with the matter did not see it as simple. Zelenskyy’s statement that “this is the most difficult moment in our history” did not mean that he would accept Trump’s 28 articles.

2.
But how did the 28 Articles come about? According to popular opinion, much of the text is in fact Putin’s. The awkward English phrases on the peace table were traces of a literal translation of a Russian sentence, and it was U.S. negotiators Steve Witkov and Jared Kushner who delivered them.

What is interesting is that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is in charge of US diplomacy, was unaware of that. Rubio flew to Switzerland in a hurry to meet with the Ukrainian delegation after learning belatedly that Trump was forcing Zelensky on Putin’s terms.

3.
So with what thought did Witkov and Kushner convey Putin’s requirements without addition or subtraction? That’s how they used it to end the Israeli-Hamas war, and they decided to use it in Europe the same way.

However, Putin is not Netanyahu, and Ukraine is not Hamas. The war situation is completely different. It was Rubio with experience who understood this properly. Rubio’s flight to Switzerland at a time when amateurs were running wild was, so to speak, an “expert intervention.”

Rubio is trying to wrap up the issue without being seen by Trump. This peace negotiation shows how the Trump administration is working (or holding out).

“A mysterious peace plan.”
