Turkey’s ability to become a member of NATO

Turkey’s ability to become a member of NATO is a credit to the Korean War. When NATO was founded in 1949, Turkey also applied for NATO membership, but it was rejected because it was not in Europe. In fact, Turkey’s territory is 90% Asian and 10% European. In the meantime, the Korean War broke out in 50 years and immediately, in accordance with the U.N. resolution, we sent 5,000 troops, the second largest number after the U.S., right away. And during the Korean War, we supported over 20,000 soldiers, causing over 700 deaths. That’s why we call Turkey the country of brothers, but this dispatch recognizes their bravery and makes them join NATO in 52. Japan’s economic revival, Turkey’s accession to NATO… The Korean War has changed a lot.

Ukraine also officially declared its NATO membership after the 2004 Orange Revolution, especially when it saw Russia attack Georgia in 2008, through the Bucharest Declaration that year. However, with President Viktor Yanukovych’s election in 2010, the policy turned around. He gave up his goal of joining NATO by stipulating Ukraine’s non-aligned neutrality status as a law. Then the Russia-Ukraine war broke out in 2022 after Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the conflict in the eastern Donbas region, and after Zelensky took office as president in 2019, the Russian-Ukraine war has now been fighting for nearly four years.

Turkey, Ukraine, and Georgia, which I have visited several times, have also experienced several incidents due to NATO membership. You should definitely go to Georgia. In any case, Turkey achieved that goal with the Korean War, but Georgia and Ukraine are so close to Russia geopolitically that they are forced to go to war with Russia, which is afraid of the West’s threats, and are in political and economic retreat. The NATO membership incident alone demonstrates that everything in the world needs to be in sync with timing and causality.

Just as Nvidia has become the world’s No. 1 player with the largest market capitalization due to GPUs that can handle large amounts of data in the AI era, Google is aiming to dominate the ASIC hardware market, although it has a slightly different nature from GPUs through TPU. On top of that, it is also targeting the software market dominated by ChatGPT with data accumulated on YouTube and Google search engines. We may be able to catch both hardware and software, but if joining NATO for security and survival was the priority of European countries, Nvidia, Google, and OpenAI have linked NATO and AI industries to see them struggling not to leave the AI industry federation upside down.

Whether it’s GPU or TPU, memory has to use current HBM chips. Until a better chip comes out in the future. If that’s the case, the ultimate beneficiary will be Hynix because Samjeon has not yet been recognized for its technology in HBM. But now that Nvidia-ordered chip production alone is not enough, Hynix will have to decide quickly whether to make bold investments in facilities. Samjeon also has a friendly relationship with Google. If HBM4 is successful somehow, it will be able to jump back to No. 1 in memory chips. However, if chips for certain purposes like TPU become popular, this will be foundry area. This will also lead to competition with TSMC. Memory will have to be our country’s ability, and foundry will have to take away TSMC’s volume. Then, we have no choice but to go around and pray for the hard work and luck of the three games.

The war in Ukraine, NATO, AI, and thoughts are getting stuck in my tail because I’m spacing out. Paradoxically, the best way to clear your head is not reading but spacing out. Hangover is the best for spacing out. HANGOVER….
