Travel to the U.S. – Review of Tesla’s Self-Driving FSD Experience

I’m going to upload it again today!!

[Travel to the U.S. – Review of Tesla’s Self-Driving FSD Experience]

From January 17th to February 7th, I will go on a family trip in the U.S. for 19 days,

Full Self-Driving (FSD) by Renting Tesla Model Y Vehicle
I’ve experienced the service myself.

It travels a total of 2,400 kilometers and has actively utilized autonomous driving capabilities while traveling from LA to Anaheim (Disneyland), San Diego, Newport, Palm Springs, and more.

[Tesla’s autonomous driving] [Almost perfect]

In the meantime, I have searched for Tesla self-driving materials in Korea and studied them indirectly through YouTube videos, but when I used them myself, I realized that they had improved more than I expected.

Surprisingly, out of a total of 2,400 kilometers, my actual driving distance was less than 100 kilometers.

In particular, it was so stable that I never had to intervene, driving over two hours from my L.A. sister’s house to my San Diego accommodation.

To be honest, I never imagined it would be at this level.

The car doesn’t just assist in driving,
• Unprotected Left Turn
• a complicated drive through the city
• Drive into and out of the highway

The back was performed more naturally than the human, and there was no feeling of stumbling at all.

“This is crazy,” I said repeatedly, admiring the perfect drive.

[Perfect use of autonomous driving – It requires little intervention]

The process of using autonomous driving was very simple.

  1. Set Destination in 숙소 Accommodation
  2. Enable 자율 autonomous mode
  3. 후After arriving at the destination, I personally intervene and park

This pattern was repeated over nearly 2,400 km of the entire section for 19 days.

If autonomous driving was unstable or uncomfortable, there would have been no reason to use it this much.

However, it was possible because it provided a more comfortable and reliable driving experience than driving directly.

The moment I had to intervene in driving was when I got to my destination and parked, or I moved my vehicle briefly to move my luggage.

Movement in parking spaces such as shopping malls and marts still needs more detailed improvement.

And many intersections in the United States have stop signs, and the disadvantage of autonomous driving is that it must stop.

In a way, it’s natural that ordinary people only go to the point where they almost stop if there are no vehicles at the intersection, and they don’t make perfect stops.

Even in Tesla, more than 99% of the average person shows this driving pattern, but in autonomous driving, even if you want to implement it, it is difficult due to legal regulations. It’s a very ironic case.

In particular, there was a time when I had to drive myself because my FSD was deactivated for some reason, but I had to check the entry route while looking at the navigation system and paying attention to the road conditions,

It felt like I was using YouTube Premium and suddenly became a regular user who had to watch advertisements.

Through this experience, I realized again how convenient Tesla self-driving is.

[Tesla FSD V13.2 Beta – Do we need more completeness?]

The FSD beta version I experienced was 13.2.2. Today, as of February, the update is going through to 13.2.7.

Tesla does version updates several times every month, and honestly, I wondered if I needed more completeness than this.

Starting with Texas in June this year, self-driving taxi services will be launched in other states such as California.

Texas (30 million) and California (40 million) have a population of 70 million,

If it is commercialized in earnest, it could be a huge game changer.

[Conclusion – Tesla’s self-driving car is already preparing for a new era]

The trip has given us confidence that Tesla’s FSD is beyond live-action availability, allowing us to drive more reliably than humans.

✅ Tesla autonomous taxi software technically completed

✅ Use public transportation at a lower cost

✅ Automobiles are now software-driven

Now, as we lifted regulations one by one, starting with the United States, it was a firsthand experience that autonomous driving is no longer a technology of the distant future, but has come a long way into our daily lives.
