Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is said to have made the following remarks to Samsung Semiconductor executives in September last year.
“NVIDIA is a customer of Samsung Electronics, not an employee. Stop calling to ask questions and ask.”
Hwang was also quoted as saying to Samsung executives, “We cannot trust Samsung’s HBM products or engineers.”
According to reports, this is not the first time Nvidia has reprimanded Samsung. Around February last year, an Nvidia employee sent an e-mail to Samsung Electronics, saying, “We are very disappointed with Samsung’s unprofessionalism and dishonesty.” Around November, an Nvidia employee who inspected Samsung’s HBM packaging line in Cheonan reportedly made harsh criticism.
A senior semiconductor industry executive said, “Jensen Huang publicly told Samsung Electronics executives that “CEOs change so often that we can’t trust the company.”
