In many ways, it seems difficult for Tesla to maintain or increase long-term sales growth in China. Price competition, which began in China, is leading to a change in Tesla’s marketing strategy. As the market share seems to continue to decline at this rate, it seems that it is now trying to play a strategy based on price only.
Tesla is just launching a ‘low-cost model’ aimed at the Chinese market. In fact, it would have been better if we had done it earlier… Too bad. What I always think about while watching Tesla is… The launch of new cars is too late. Wouldn’t it be better if we had a strategy to make and release new cars whenever we built one factory?
It is said that Shanghai’s production line is used to produce models that are 20% lower in cost, but I think it’s made with low specifications. But if Tesla turns the basic things that it has been offering into low specifications… Will that work for the Chinese? Of course, it’s cool that companies like BYD are so aggressive in low-cost vehicles that they have no choice but to open a competitive system for each section… I have to say this, but Tesla is always late for everything. It used to be a super-fast company, but as Musk’s business increases, everything slows down.
I don’t like the expression “failure,” but restaurants that can’t do anything end up lowering prices. That’s why for many people, this is a good strategy, but it’s a short-term strategy, so I wonder if there’s a crisis in the long run. And if you don’t survive here, you’ve seen a lot of investors go out of business. It’s similar to Motorola and Nokia. Technology is lagging… It’s a case where you go out of business with low prices.
Unfortunately, it is real and true. At one time, Tesla was a strange car just to see on the road. I went on a business trip to Hong Kong, and I remember being surprised that there were so many Tesla on the road.
However, when I think about it again, I think it has been fast so far because many companies have compiled what they have accomplished in advance. As a result, it is increasingly questionable whether Tesla can really continue to lead innovation. This is because BYD is innovating too quickly and overwhelms Elon Musk in all fields.
Even the political part of recent times….
It’s just a quiet, all-round strategy to sell to companies
The exhaustion of risk bursting from one to ten… is driving the mood of Tesla and BYD’s stock prices to be different.
Anyway, it seems like Tesla is becoming just the kind of company that can’t find any particular advantages in terms of brand, performance/quality, or price. FSD self-driving is actually too late, too. Of course, I know it’s awesome… It should have come out a long time ago… It’s getting used to it now. So far, Chinese companies have been catching up quickly, and they don’t think about Tesla’s platform, which everyone predicted, is now the most impactful, fast, and high market share.
The speed at which the competitor is following has increased dramatically.
If Hyundai also successfully enters autonomous driving within a few months after the launch of FSD
There may be more people who just buy a Hyundai car than people who buy a Tesla. Because each person has his or her favorite vehicle design.
Tesla will be the only company that can compete with Chinese electric vehicle companies such as BYD in terms of electric vehicle production cost. If Tesla fails to recover its Chinese sales/market share despite the change in its strategy of launching a “low-cost model,” other global automakers will also be in a situation where they are considering survival in the mid to long term.
Japanese automakers continue to stress that there is no time to survive. Soon, the Southeast Asian market will be taken away by BYD, and the Japanese traditional automobile industry is likely to end.
In the future, the winner of China will take over the global vehicle market
If it slows down more than you think
I think they will close the technology gap to some extent. Everyone is facing a crisis right around the corner.
Whether Tesla wins the price war in China or not is likely to take a sharp turn.
But… Before that, Musk should come down from the doji chief… I think it’s a good thing for Tesla
Actually, it’s right to buy it when it’s full of bad news like now, but it’s annoying…

Tesla opens new tab will make a lower-cost version of its best-selling Model Y in Shanghai, three people with knowledge of the matter said, aiming to regain ground lost during a price war in its second-largest market.
The U.S. electric vehicle maker is developing the model under a project codenamed “E41” and will build it using existing production lines, the people said. Mass production will begin at its biggest factory by output in 2026, said two of the people.
