To become a system semiconductor G2 – To catch up with TSMC
To make a system semiconductor, semiconductor equipment must make a mask or reticle corresponding to a photographic film. The black-and-white fluorescent material below reacts when light is irradiated from the lens to the film.
A reticle corresponds to such a film in semiconductor equipment. A circuit measuring 28x28mm in width and width is produced by shrinking a reticle measuring 250mm by 250mm and emitting light on the wafer. Generally, if this size is divided into 3x3mm, 9x9x81 chips are formed in one reticle.
With the development of AI semiconductors these days, the size of NPU circuits has grown tremendously, making the entire reticle into a single chip. In other words, the size to make 81 is made into one chip. Then, a semiconductor with a size of 784mm^2 (square mm) and about 800mm^2 is drawn on a 12-inch wafer. A 12-inch wafer covers an area of 72,900mm^2, so with Pi*r^2/800, about 90 AI semiconductors can be made on one wafer. In reality, the yield is 50% and the quitung part is cut off, so it is unlikely that there will be even 40 on one wafer. Even though there may be only a few on one wafer because it is broken while being packaged, the yield is unknown because it is the secret of the foundry.

TSMC says it will accumulate 1 trillion transistors on 800 square mm chips by 2030. It is likely to increase it by 208 billion on the current B200 chip. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether it is 2 nanometers or 3 nanometers, but it is important how many transistors rise in 1mm^2 width and length, and how much power it consumes when switching 0 and 1 to a full load toggle with a 2GHz clock and up to how many GHz it can operate.
Transistor density, power consumption, and limited operating speed are all of the system semiconductor performance produced by the foundry. GPS, Gate Density, Power, and Speed are all of the performance.
Company S doesn’t open it. Therefore, the performance is unknown. It is called a 2-nanometer process in the dark. In fact, 2 nanometers these days is not the measured gate size, but a relative value to say that it is 2 times larger than the previous 14 nanometers.
So we don’t know, but it’s less than half the performance as a leading company estimate, so … you can’t keep up with TSMC in normal way.
