[Giga Berlin’s annual water consumption]
Recently, environmental groups have pointed to Giga Berlin’s water consumption, which Tesla has actively argued against.
✅ Approved water usage per year is 1.8 million cubic meters, and actual water usage is 500,000
✅ 100% recycling of dirty sewage generated during vehicle production
✅ Germany’s largest wastewater treatment plant, larger than the nuclear power plant
✅ 4% of the total water usage of the WSE (Water Resources Association) is being used
⬇️ Current status of water use at other factories (annual basis) ⬇ ️
✅ Janshuvall Power Plant: 44.9 million
✅ Waste recycling company: 23 million
✅ Asparagus Farm: 1.1 million
✅ Benz: 100,000
(In the case of Mercedes, it has 2,000 employees and produces 50,000 vehicles per year. In other words, while absolute water usage seems to be beneficial to the environment due to fewer Mercedes-Benz, Tesla is much more efficient in using water per vehicle.)
