Even in China, the heaven of LFP batteries, there are no “high-performance” electric cars with LFP batteries, and the prevailing perception is that “LFP electric cars are a cost-effective difference at a low price” is just because of the physical and chemical limitations of LFP batteries…

Is it possible to have a vehicle with ‘efficiency’, ‘charging speed’, and ‘driving distance’ that surpasses NCM even with LFP? LFP is suitable for the high performance-luxury that Mercedes is aiming for? ….

It’s only a matter of time before Mercedes goes bankrupt in the electric car market because such a guy is doing CTO. Once you choose a car with a battery, the answer is to skip Mercedes… (Same with hybrid and PHEV)

When asked by reporters whether the introduction of LFP batteries will harm Mercedes-Benz’s premium image, CTO Shaffer said, “Many customers want cheap vehicles and do not need the long mileage that NCM three-way batteries have,” adding, “We are currently loading LFP batteries into the vehicle in entry-class Mercedes-Benz vehicles and waiting for performance (performance) results.”

“The Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle, which will be equipped with LFP batteries and unveiled in the future, will be superior to the current NCM three-way battery model,” he said. “The LFP battery itself in the vehicle will be superior to the existing battery in terms of efficiency, charging speed, and mileage.”
