Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest defines Tesla’s Cybertruck as a ‘marketing machine’ and predicts potential beyond the price tag.
12/4/2023 9:17 p.m. (Benzinga Newswire) Sivertruck is expected to bring about a major change in the overall truck market. More people are expected to change their minds about basic specs in the future. If the Fed continues to succeed in soft-landing, it will certainly see a surge in demand for electric vehicles again, a massive increase in good news and a surge in Tesla and tsll stock prices
Although higher than initial projections provided by the company, according to an analyst at Ark Investment Management led by Cathie Wood, Tesla Inc’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) Cybertruck prices are competitive with industry-wide average prices.
What Happened: According to analyst Sam Korus, the price of a Cybertruck is competitive. As of October 2023, the average full-size truck price is $66,184 versus $77,906 for a full-size SUV.
Analysts believe Cybertruck will act as a research and development platform through several innovations, such as Steer by Wire. These features could be replicated to other vehicles later, Korus noted.
Korus also said the ‘potentially profitable’ vehicle is a ‘marketing machine’, meaning crowds gathered at various showrooms to see the vehicle. Innovation in the vehicle could help Tesla strengthen its technological edge over its competitors, they noted.
Why It Matters: Cybertrucks start at $60,990 and its premium version, the CyberBeast, starts at $99,990. That doesn’t include optional battery packs or extensions to fit the truck’s bed.
For size comparison, Ford Motor Co’s all-electric 2023 F-150 Lightning truck’s base model starts at $49,995, with the Lightning’s most premium model, Platinum, at $91,995.
When it went public in November 2019, Tesla expected the base model of the Cybertruck to simply start at $39,900.
