“In the future, ultra-large AI models will be integrated into various devices and will work like operating systems,” said Ediu, chairman and CEO of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. “We will continue to release Qwen as an open source to develop it into an ‘AI-era operating system’ and support developers around the world to build innovative AI applications.”
“As a full-stack AI service provider, Alibaba Cloud is focused on providing the highest-efficiency and powerful computing environment for learning and distributing ultra-large AI models in the cloud,” he said. “We plan to invest 380 billion yuan (about 73 trillion won) in AI and cloud infrastructure over the next three years to show our long-term willingness to invest in AI development.”
Earlier, Alibaba unveiled more than 300 AI models as open-source based on the super-giant language model Qwen and the visual generation model Wan since the launch of the first generation Qwen in 2023.
Qwen3-Max, officially launched by Alibaba at the conference, is the largest hyper-giant language model with more than a trillion parameters. At the Apsara conference, Qwen3 series models with enhanced vision-language processing and multimodal capabilities were also unveiled.”
